Another trucking company to AVOID is Marten Transport,I completed the two day orientation in Desoto,TX..alot of misleading info from class and talking to the recruiter, what they dont tell you in orientation you find out very quickly out on the road, first the sliding pay scale the more miles you run the less pay, suppose to be out 7-10 days run the south central region, why am I up in the midwest, northwest, and northeast section of the USA..home time, not with Marten Transport, stay out a month and you only get 3days off,the max is 4 and that needs to be approved, drivers are being wrote up for every infraction Marten can think up,however they can get away with going into the qualcomm and changing hours of service at their discretion when it suits them, scale tickets are not paid unless the weight is over 42,000,over rpm, over speed any speeding ticket can get you fired, low tire pressure can get you fired, truck repair at the new terminal..ha ha ,i have more tools in my garage than they have at the shop, alot of rules at Marten that change with the weather..all in all the driver and their family are the ones that get the short end of the stick with this company.

Word of advice when it comes to the hours of svc on your elogs...take a picture of the qualcomm screen with your logs on it. That's how you'll be able to catch them tampering with your logs.

If you would ever end up in court against them, a good atty would be able to subpoena the qualcomm records and it would show who committed the illegal tampering of a legal federal document.

i worked for them a few years back.they f'd me good on my dac for no reason.i like to run for about 2+ months at a time.no problem there.the truck they gave me was a pos.dash codes galore, batteries were on there last leg,def had an electrical problem, overheating so on.i told them about it,they ran me through 3 diffrent yards, atl, indy, and 2 times in mondovi.i was still running loads and #### making ok money so i was'nt really ######## other than it would #### me good when the truck we mess up on me.like when i was up in saint paul in the dead of winter and the gladhands busted as i was backing into my dock.tight lil place too so i was blocking everyone lmao.got it taped up enough to get me down the road to a ts.

they screwed me good making me sit for a week in mondovi waiting for there bs service dept to fix my truck.i put in for home time when i left home out 2 months and all i wanted was 4 days off for personal reasons.2 days into my home time i was sent a message on the qc asking me to go run a quick load.i said no i can't i have things to do.i was sent another bs message i said no i can't.they came and picked up my truck in the middle of the nite.then i find out they put a unauth loc without notice...lmao i was at home on time off lmao.

I'm here at marten now. What the op is telling you is the complete truth. Here's more to ad to it. Ur miles start dropping from day one. After 3 months. For get it. Marten has got there greedy hands on the grant money for hiring drivers. They cut ur miles to nothing. Just enough to cover the insurance and taxes to state to the Feds that you do get paid. Plus you have to sign a travel expense paper stating that you have to pay back the money for bring you to orientation.plus you have to pay your own way home if you quit or get fired. It's truly a suck up and buddy club here first at marten. Right now if a complaint to the state. The state told me they have over 1200 complaints on marten transport out of mondovi,wi. In the last year alone. So now you know if marten is calling you are better off telling them to go get f'd. That is the common word of the drivers here at marten. And if you don't know what broke is. Work for marten. They will help you remember what poverty is.
