i myself work for Marten Transport & its by far the best ppl to work for. I am out of the Tampa,FL terminal & been here over 2yrs. We have in our trucks, 1800 watt inverters, thermo king apu, in cab scanning for all your paper work. & most of us get new trucks every year. i drive a KW T660 & i get a new one every 14/18 mths. our pay is sliding pay scale, im mostly @42 cpm @ 2800 to 3200 per wk. this guy has no idea

You running solo or teams. Do you recommend the team operation?

The western fleet is good as well. 3,000 miles a week is not hard to get. I'm still happy after 4 1/2 years. But not all fleets at Marten get the big miles. I would stay away from OTR, as I was told they get the " leftovers".

Back before our economy went sour, all these companies that were once good like Martin are now the worst according to some drivers.

When you see posts like this its one of the dispatches, because they well only keep you at .42 cpm for a short time and not get you the miles, and then let you go I now first hand they lied when they let me father go, and at the same time they lied when they let my husband and I go too.

I don't believe this post is from a driver one bit. Not one mention of the perdiem, and being shaved to death. Looks like Marten is desparate after the overwhelming disapproval from former drivers. 42 a mile most of the time probably means short runs. So kiss 2800 to 3000 miles a week goodbye. Also any rate you do make, subtract 3 for perdiem. Then if the load is over 600 or 700 miles ( which is rare) , subtract even more getting you closer to 35 a mile.
I guess Marten thinks we're too stupid to see through this. Maybe they'll create a bunch of profiles now.
Just remember this: Subtract 3cent a mile from whatever they say you'll make for their perdiem scam. Then remember that any load that isn't a shag will be probably another 3 to 5 cent less than their top rate. If you are making their top rate on shag runs, be prepared to do a lot of sitting, for very short miles. Marten.. The lowest paying trucking job I ever had. I hope they get sued over their perdiem scampattyj Thanks this.
