Well where to start, if you are interested in this company dont be. Forget about them and go else where. I repsonded to an attractive ad in the paper about dedicated routes between Louisville Ky and El Paso TX, attractive huh?? well I called and she faxed me a apllication and she ran my MVR and told me I was approved in about 2 minutes, I later verified they never checked previous employment, thats good.... Orienetation consisted of 8 hours of movies and pizzas and no human communication between anyone. The road test was about 3 miles long and it did not matter if you could drive or not. ( just need drivers to fill the spots). After all of that we were informed that we would not get paid for three weeks and there would be no direct deposit!! The short of all of that is no communication within the company and no one will give you the same story or answer as the other person. Also found out their safety rating is so bad that DOT pulled all their pre pass.
On to the fine equipment they have, ragged out freightliners that have been poorly neglected or totaled out and repaired. for example a hole in the fuel tank was repaird with a piece of sheet metal and some pop rivets.Lug nuts falling off the front wheels and no heat or A/C.
If you need fuel you must contact dispatch and have your fuel card activated to get fuel, this means sitting on the fuel island for a few hours wondering if they are really going to turn it on so you can get fuel. You will also spend hours on the phone attempting to get thru to dispatch, and you will never talk to the same person.
I have been driving for 8 years and have a few miles logged and I have never seen such a mis directed company before. If you think you might be interested in this company please think again. I spoke with one driver that had been working for them for over a month and still had not got paid, hard to make a living like that.
FYI- this company is known as MTS and use to be RTS.

I just had to respond to this posting I have been working for MTS since early 07, and the majority of the things stated above are true.
Regarding the pre pass cards, there isnt one, and its true, they had so many drivers who abused it (MTS did nothing about it) that DOT pulled their license. NOW, drivers have to pay out of their own pocket the toll fees and submit the receipts to get reimbursed, which is a joke because they lose your receipts and you never get reimbursed, and when you do, its the wrong amount or its shorted and you have to wait 2-3 weeks to get it! There are a few drivers who do have toll cards, but they had to beg and plead to get it.
The fuel card right on!!! you have to call them to activate it, and you have to do this 2-3 hours prior to getting fuel. If another driver comes along and gets fuel before you (all on the same account), you can pull up and start fueling and you will get only what is left on the card. The truck stop is then pissed off at you and complains, I always have problems with MTS, and then you have to call dispatch and wait for them to reactivate the card, which can take up to an hour! And GOD yes, when you call dispatch to have them activate the card, 9 out of 10 they forget, I am not kidding, or you get some idiot that doesnt have a clue how to do it (is the janitor answering the phone???), and they tell you to call back. You can be on hold for 10 minutes, it eats up your cell minutes but what do they care?
And Dispatch? (Out of Grand Rapids)...what a circus show that is! I have never talked to such idiots and I have been driving a long time! They have GPS but they never know where you are! They have sent me to the wrong places, and left me sitting there for two hours, never calling me back or emailing me, to them it is just figure it out yourself! I have had dispatch tell me, You call them! What the F***!!!??? Isnt that a dispatch job to talk to the people where the load is going??? No, I am given the number to call the destination and figure out where and when.
Finally, pay what a joke this is too, I have had my pay checked screwed up so many times I am ready to hire an accountant to see how much they have screwed me. They never have you parked in the proper location when you are done, (is the janitor entering this stuff???). Your check is shortened, you cant pay bills, cant plan but when you call dispatch to get it cleared up, they give you this rooty tooty dance, they want you to copy all your log sheets, fill out this form and that form and submit it. WHAT??? Bottom line If its not their paycheck, they dont care.
I honestly do not believe that this dispatch office has ever been inside a truck let alone seen one, just the fancy pictures they have of the ones on the wall. In addition, when they ask you to do a run, they have no concept of miles and time whatsoever, or DOT down time and rules of the road. They do a MapQuest and expect a truck to make it in the same amount of time! Hello!!! MapQuest is made for cars at 65 mph! It doesnt show construction or low bridges, or weather conditions these guys are a joke!!!
All in all, this company sucks big time, I have been looking for another job (as well as other drivers) that has some people who have a better sense of what they are doing, and appreciate the driver. But, arent we all?
Oh, and by the way, I heard from another driver in Louisville, that the ads for the dedicated runs from Louisville to El Paso well, that is just a carrot. You get it for a while, then they pull you off it and with the problems with Ford, their plants are constantly being shut down, so the runs are few and far between, one week you can have a good check and then you can go two weeks with little or no check. Pretty rotten carrot. -
Well, I am glad to see that I am not the only one that had problems with this company. I have since moved on to work for a private carrier making good money and no problems like that. what a joke they are, and I am not sure how they keep the doors open. I wish you the best of luck brother, you have stuck it out much longer than I could..
Be Safe, and may you and your family have a safe and happy Holiday season!! -
I drove for MTS for almost 2 years, I had 3 different trucks that when I got them they were trashed, I cleaned, fixed and took care of them as if I owned them. I never turned down runs, I went above and beyond and they still treated me poorly. I was fired because they found out I was looking for a better job, they are saying that I tampered with their truck regarding speed control. I am currently looking into taking legal action against them because now they are giving me a very bad reveiw to any future employers. I would not suggest anyone work for them, they treat the drivers very very badly!

I have been here for sometime and builded my senoirity up so i can get good run's and it is local to where i get home. But now for all that goes ,on all the post are right and if you don't do what they want down the road you go,if dispacth don't like you they will lie to get you fired.Every body her has no life and have to be in every body's else bussiness, all the people they have that run's the show are morons and never been in a truck but think they know everything.run the other way a fast as you can stay away from this company as they will mess up yur driving record, there truck are junk and trailer's to most of the time they are a rolling dot violation .good luck to all you guy's that ran the other way. spead the word to say away .

Iam looking for a new company myself , but everyone ive contacted tells me i will have to start out as a student, because i dont stay out for weeks OMFG
This company does not want a driver for long and they treat you like that
The union worker has a giant bullseye on his back even if you had to join the union to get the job4mer trucker Thanks this. -

has anyone said what will happen when this aam strike is over? will any of the drivers be called back?
i remember being called and asked if i wanted to run team down to texas and back, and i told greg no, what were they planning on me doing, stop being in the union?
#### that stupid company, i found a nice little company over in ny where im at now. HFL inc, nice equipment, NO gps or computers. hell, they just give me money for tolls. pay on par with martin, but better hometime and no one here is a dick. the owner of the company drives a wrecker himself, so he doesnt act like mike eddy.
