That's ridiculous. I'm pretty sure most people are aware of the fact that most Jamaicans, including plantation owners, are/were black.

 

Curious where I can read more about this. My understanding is that in jamaica slave trade was abolished in 1809 and slavery itself was abolished in 1834.
During parts of the 1700s blacks owned slaves but this was severely restricted I believe around 1750. Those were mainly in small city businesses and brothels with limits on the number of slaves. Additionally there was a law passed that blacks owning both other blacks and agricultural land were required to employ white slave managers. This law was implemented because there were an increasing number of black people inheriting land or money from.... You guessed it... White owners who fathered black children... As was my premise. Unproven premise but statistically likely.
Please lead me to info on 1800 black plantation ownership. I'm curious.
