Something sounds whacked here... I ran a fan and a laptop for 4 days and never had a problem. The truck batteries should last a good long time.
10 minutes.. that sounds as though the inverter is not supplying power to the laptop and the laptop battery is on its last legs. Are you sure the cig lighter is functional? (I had two in my truck that were not).
Eventually, I installed an 850W inverter and ran my tower as well.
Fridge and window A/C are on the shopping list.
Yeah - I got my priorities![]()

So I know this is an old thread but I have advice for the newbies who will read it.
Walmart Or Fedex/ Kinko store, really any automotive supply store or truck stop sells an adapter $17 to $39 depends where you buy it that plugs into the lighter and turns it into a regular plug. -
I always just used earplugs and my codriver would wake me up when it was my turn. Or I would put my phone on vibrator and tuck it in my underwear, bra, very effective.
Just don't ask to borrow my phone! -
When i am home its real quiet, (you can hear a mouse pissing on cotton!) on the road, different story, I just idle, eventually you will get used to outside noise.
-
I either use a 12volt fan, or sleep with a pillow over my ear. It all depends on how warm it is in the truck.
-
I want to bring a recording of NYC noise to listen to while on the road. Lol. I live in Albany ny now and it's way to quiet! Lol. I don't think I will have a problem with the noise.

I sleep with the TV on. My dreams sometimes interact with whats on. I hate when COPS come on. I'll be running and stuff. Then I wake up more tired than when I went to bed.

You give sexting a whole new meaning!
