    Comparing pollution controls of a class 8 vs a passenger car without figuring in the amount of production between the two is irrational. Having the most affordable and dependable engine should be a consideration with pollution limits. Ones making the rules do not care about production. They only care about their agenda, meanwhile they want all their luxuries and could care less about the American worker/business owner.

    I get about 25 with my Ram, which IMHO is pretty good compared to the gas powered equivalent with a 6.4 Hemi.

    No, but i can pull a fully loaded semi out of a snow bank and get around 16 hauling a 7000 pound tahoe on a 4100 pound equipment flatbed.

    Very nice mileage. It’s wierd more people haven’t adopted diesel 4 wheelers. They just pay for gas and vehicles that never last as long as a diesel. To each their own.

    Nice. I maxed out my trailering weight and got around 23MPG towing it at around 70-75.

    Not bad, but we also have two very diffrent use cases lol. Your car is likely a VW jetta im assumeing? Maybe a BMW? Ive near maxed mine out with 20k+ trailers on a fairly regular basis moving our dozers and loaders around before and it has a plow package that ive put on it before. So bit of an apples to blue jeans comparison here.

    Granted i can just use my semi for most of that, but ive had the ram since LONG before i was an O/O lol

    Diesel fuel costs 30-35% more than regular gas here. With the emissions crap and price difference between the gas engine and diesel engine options (about $7500 US more for the Cummins vs Hemi) I bet costs come out pretty close over the life most people keep vehicles.

    Also winter start issues diesel vs gas/ fuel contamination/ lotta car drivers dont understand diesel, turbo diesel contrast to gas



    neighbor had one of those vw’s new that they ended up recalling years back. Asked me one day why when he pulled in hot he had to turn the key off twice to get the motor to shut off… i told him: he didnt believe me until he got to replace the turbo (under warranty but still)

    diesels for work, gas for personal or light truck duty imo

    Nope, for my personal 4 wheeler I have a small pickup that’s diesel. No winter issues, or anything else knock wood. No VW or BMW for me. With the mileage I get it has more than paid for itself vs a gasser.

    Ok i am drawing a blank on any of the smaller pickups that are diesel to be honest. Regardless id not trade my mini monster truck for anything. If for no other reason then its comfortable and after a decade with it im rather attached lol.
