Ok, here goes. Cooling system has 10 gallons of 50/50 pre mix. Lost 2 gallons. Replaced it with 2 gallons of plain water. So if I drain 2 gallons and add 2 gallons of pure concentrate type antifreeze. What would the end result be? 50/50? More? Less? I’m at a loss. Should be close enough. Just can’t figure out what the exact ratio will be. Truck’s getting parked till spring. Don’t want to chance it. I have a cheap tester. Little floating different Colored balls. Do they work? I see better ones for less than $10. Something I’ll only use once. Trying to get rid of stuff, not buy any more crap.

Well right now you have 40/60, what's the back of the jug say for temp it will freeze at for different concentrations?

You could drain 2 gallons and add 2 more of the concentrated stuff the yes do add water stuff and you'd be at 52%coolant/48%water, close enough to call it 50.50.

30%-13, 40%-23, 50%-35. I bought 2 gallons at Napa. On sale for $20 gallon. Cheap insurance. Be my luck to have record low temps.

It'd be a safer bet @Rideandrepair to drain the coolant. You don't want coolant sitting on top of that piston all winter.

I'd drain the coolant. Then turn it over by hand, or let it set for a day, to get the coolant past the rings. Then fire it up for a few seconds to blow the coolant off the top of the piston.

At least that way it will set the winter dry. Otherwise, you'll have that coolant dripping into the cylinder all winter.

You forgot to carry the remainder, add 4/5ths, multiply by zero, leaving the quotient indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

You both forgot to find the square root of the common denominator then round it down to the nearest tenth and multiply it by pie +£ =¥
