Oh boy, Billy. You've really opened up a can of worms here.

There are a lot of people on this site that worship Maverick, and think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Be prepared for the onslaught of attacks. They will all say you are the problem, not Maverick.

I don't work for Maverick and I never have, but after reading your post, I have to let you in on a little "secret". You ready?

A Flatbed "Trucker's Weekend" is typically home on Friday with a load on you that is due somewhere else Monday morning with your 10 hour break behind you.

Did anyone ever share this "secret" with you before?

If not, here are a few more:

Sometimes trucking companies don't have loads going towards where you happen to live! I know, shocking isn't it? And not only that, sometimes they will give you a load simply to give you some paid miles!!!! Can you even imagine?

So dude, you need to know that most trucking companies don't even give a crap if you never see home for a month or two. THAT is why Flatbed companies are usually ideal for newbies. Getting to see your own home once a week is a rare treat for most over-the-road driving positions and from what I've read and heard about Maverick, you aren't likely to find much better, ESPECIALLY if you expect three full weekend days off per week every week :biggrin_25523:

I would also thing it is obivious if you fail your test, you're out the door. I think you have an idea of what trucking was like 30+ years ago. Unfortunately, things have changed for the worse as far as home time is concerned. Many people are out over a month at a time. 24 hours is not good for me. That's why I am at home instead on of the road.

You will have the same thing from most big companies that say "drivers home every weekend!" You will mostly get in friday night or saturday morning and have to leave sunday afternoon/evening. A truckers weekend isn't 5:00 friday to 9:00 monday especially when you're pulling a flatbed because a lot of the places you're going to pickup/deliver to are open fairly normal hours during the day where with vans and reefers you will see a lot more loads that deliver at odd times (grocery warehouses etc......)

Honestly, sounds like most other trucking companies.

Home weekends usually means you are home for your 36hr reset.

Not everybody that goes to orientation makes it into a truck.
