The best advice I can give you is to keep your eyes and ears open and mouth shut except to ask a question!

Getting back to normal finally! 6 loads/Tarps and 2191 miles. Finally back to grossing over $1000/week, badly needed too! I hope it continues to get busier.

Last week 3063 net pay 1200 something, this w eek 1323? Murphys law in effect. Poop rolls downhill and I was at the bottom of the ditch this week. best thing about the bottom is you have nowhere to go but up. lol. Got parked last Friday eve about 1930 with a load of steel plate going to Marmaduke, ar with 2235 miles and was asked/agreed to swap with another driver who lived out that way to get him home which put my week at 3063. I got his load of slinkies to Shelbyville, ky so started the week with 26 miles. MT and FM calls says go to Walton, Ky trailer repair shop, drop the trailer im under, go to Maverick's "yard" in Middletown, oh, pu a trailer there bring it back to trailer repair shop, drop it and pu my original trailer I dropped. We roll then beeeeep. Trailer is at blah blah blah location with this phone number. Call it for dirs. and its at a different trailer repair shop, not the Maverick Middletown yard located in Dayton, Oh. Ok fine. BEEP. Msg from FM. 167 paid miles on this and will get you set up on something for you to pu after you get back to your trailer. Cool. Get to Walton trailer repair shop aka Walton Ice Skating Rink and Trailer Repair. Students driving. Got stuck and had to dig down to gravel numerous times just to get trailer dropped. Roll to Dayton. Get to trailer repair shop in Dayton. Plug in is laying on the front of the trailer, walk around reveals outside rear lights are hanging out of sockets almost down to the ground. Mechanic comes out and says, "Maverick said they were sending a wrecker for this." I grimace and introduce myself, "John W. Maverick's wrecker for the day" he sends a coupla mechs out and less than 30 mins, were rolling back to Walton Ice Arena. Beep. preplan pu Ghent, ky NAS 2215hrs. grrrrrrrrrrrr. get back to Walton Ice Arena. Student's driving. Get stuck in lot again numerous times but easier dig out now that temps warmed up a bit. drop trailer. hook up to our trailer. Go in office and tell them trailer # blah is on their lot now. Counter guy says what's wrong with it. *grimace* I told him I didn't know, and said jokingly I had been dealing with thir ice rink outside since noon to get the trailer to their lot, and did what I was told so I'm sure someone on the previous shift knows about it. roll to NAS in Ghent. check in and go to the gravel lot staging area. Last to get called to door to load. 3rd in line outside the door to pu. 3 coils, 3 bays, then to the tarping shed. Load went to NLR next day to del 9am Wed at Ryerson. Del and go up the street to small truckstop. Student practices blindside backing for 30-45 mins while waiting for next load, then we sit, get tired of the view and go across the street to other small truck stop and practice backing there for a bit. BEEP pu Armorel. 1500 hrs going to Chattanooga for del 0200-0600hrs Friday am. total paid loaded miles loaded 335. Call con on way up to pu. confirm del hrs but 1st come 1st serve not date specific. pu with no problem other than 3 BTC simply driving to the scale precisely at 1500hrs, 2 locals flying by on staging road to get in front of us. 2 locals get sent elsewhere in the mill. we go to and thru the ballpark and loader sets 35, 40, 45, and 50' beams on the deck that had been staged for a one lift load.....SWEET!!! Roll to del. check in at 0200. last to go to door blah blah. watch workers slowly unload truck infront of me and pull up to where it had been sitting to get unloaded. Workers go on break for an hour. 0715, last bundle of beams, clears the trailer. Park out front and zzzzzzzzzzzz. wake up and wait, 4 hours for next load. Pu preloaded trailer. 24 hrs a day. Friday to del bardstown, ky Monday. roll to pu in hopes of keeping current trailer. get to pu. 2 mt Maverick trailers. security says its been slow so they haven't been coming in to load preloaded trailers scheduled to pu the next day til about 2230 and live loads are done during daytime hours. so he takes us on a tour of the back lot where they load the preloads, no Maverick trailers back there either. no problem. we drop our trailer and I write a note to shipping explaining that if a different maverick trailer hadn't been started to be loaded with our load that we request it be loaded on the trailer we brought in and dropped. 2300ish the lights come on in the shipping office but doors are locked and forklifts are flying out back so I go back to truck and wait. and wait and wait. and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. wake up at 0700. No new preloads have come from around back so go check in with shipping. Got my note and will load it on the trailer we brought in. SWEEEEEET! says it'll be about an hour. 3.5 hours later, and after 4 other preloaded trailers are pulled from around ours loaded and returned, *BTW* were still the only truck that has arrived to pu on the property, our trailer is taken back loaded and returned. Horror Movie screeching violins sound as he brings our trailer out front loaded with the prefab building were hauling. I've seen rough timber loads that looked better than this thing! 16 straps, 4 chains, and 13.25 hours after trailer was supposed to be ready for pu, we're ready to roll. MURPHYS LAW. Gear indicator flashes showing "F then -" repeatedly. Try what I've done before to get transmission to reset but to no avail. Send in Breakdown macro. fleetnets response. "can you get the truck to roll", MY RESPONSE, "given we are fully loaded and on level ground.....NO" don't even wait for a response back from fleetnet to my reply and call sewerman, do what he says and..........HALLELUYAH *angelic choir sounds* transmission resets and we leave shipper 18.5 hours after we got there. Like I said, nowhere to go but up and Alabama to Kentucky is Up so Up we went.
