Is that the net mileage minus practice backing up, or gross?

"Ok guys...whats up with the miles situation...suppose to be headin to NLR for orientation in a cpl weeks. Cant be runnin LTL miles. gotta turn to earn..." Asiansmurf

There are a lot of variables in the miles you get. Everyone is different. Here is what hubby has gotten for the last 2 months:

    5/1 2679 miles 2-tarps 2-drop GROSS-1261.97
    5/8 2429 miles 3-tarps GROSS-1119.47
    5/15 2419 miles 2-tarps GROSS-1090.17
5/22 2330 miles 3-tarps GROSS-1076.00 (switched trucks almost all day process)
    5/29 2459 miles 4-tarps GROSS-1157.27
    6/5 2652 miles 3-tarps 1-drop GROSS-1245.36
6/12 2309 miles 2-tarps GROSS-1042.87 (spent most of a day and night getting the APU switched in the truck)
    6/20 2449 miles 1-tarp GROSS-1078.07
    6/28 2724 miles 4-tarps GROSS-1271.32

He does do the per diem. Also home on the weekends with these miles.

It was my version of a "Knock Knock" joke: I was gigging you on your rant about the student who couldn't find the hole in reverse and killed your fuel mileage. Worked about as well for me as it did that Florida lawyer. ;-)

Great post. And great numbers! It made me go back and review what I have done. Your hubby ran 22,450 miles in nine weeks, I ran 21,550 over the same nine weeks. That gave me an average gross of $1,107.49 per week, or 46 cents per mile without bonus.

I like looking at the big picture. Sometimes you will get a short load, short week or mechanical failure that holds you back (I had all of them over the past 9 weeks). I don't let this stuff bother me anymore as I know it will all work out over time.

Those questioning our mileage are on that door swinger mentality. They all want to run 3000+ miles a week and never look at their pay check, but wonder why they are broke all the time. Then figure it's because they aren't running enough miles!

Run smart, run efficient, have fun and take home the bacon.
