I didn't get the details this time because it seemed a simple enough dispatch. Not sure where in Charlotte he was. Whoever does catalytic converters. He went from there over to I-95 and then headed due south. Is spending the night at a rest stop near Exit 215. Plans to take 50 to Orlando. The con is on Alafaya Trail (434). That's pretty much all I know.

Wish I'd a known you were in Moncure. I was working about 30 miles from there all day today near a little town called Angier. Could have popped over to say hiya. Saw a Maverick truck on I-40 around mm 318 today between exits for NC 42 and NC 210. Don't see too many on I-40 so nice to know they're in the area.

    Take it easy.

Didn't appear to be...the plywood plant had a new name I noticed (at least I think it used to have a different name), now its called Moncure Plywood.

I loaded at Uniboard, on out the street from the plywood plant.

RC wife how is RC's truck runnin' now, next time he gets a call for maint. have them check the fuel filters, that might be 1 reason why RC isn't getting the HP he needs on hills & his mpg is lower.. and you havent mentioned RC's settlements, is he doing better now than he did at Covenant or is it too soon to compare them?

    Hey, y'all!!
My trucker just got hired on with Maverick this Thursday! A lot of what he's going through is exactly as you put it in your earlier entries, RCW. Thank you for the heads up! I keep reading this topic so that when he gets some loads, we may have some info on the stops already :)

When I left there I never trashed the company. Some have accused me in the past of recruiting for them. If that were the case, why would I still speak highly of them? I have nothing to gain from them now. When a driver leaves a company and speaks highly of them that should speak volume for the co. Most of the ones you hear complaining about them were guys who was tearing stuff up and costing them a lot of money. Maverick is a good company. He can hold his head up and say that he is a maverick. You have to prove yourself there. They will not just take anybody.

Thanks, will let him know about the maintenance request. RC is convinced that his truck is just tired. He's looking forward to getting a new one.

Actually, I had planned on doing just that (settlement info) as soon as I get Redcoat's pay statements. I only have one so far that RC forwarded to me and I need to email payroll to see if they will add my email address to the list when they send them out to Redcoat. I also need to get with them to explain to me the various deductions and the meaning of some of the terms they use.

That is one thing I miss about Covenant as opposed to Maverick. With Covenant, you could go on their website, sign in, and get your pay statement two days before payday. With all the technology Maverick puts into their trucks, I wish they'd also spend the funds to set up an intranet for their drivers.

Overall though, so far Redcoat has pretty much taken a pay cut with his move to Maverick. The pay at Covenant sucked at .27 per mile but he was getting quite a few miles driving the dedicated routes. With Maverick, he's making more money per mile but he's losing a lot of hours messing around with tarps, scaling, and what not. Losing just a couple hours can mean the difference in being able to deliver a load the following day or not. And if not, then that's one less dispatch you get for the week and that can add up. Redcoat knows that his tarping skills will improve with time but for now his wallet is paying the price for his inexperience.

But once I get the rest of his statements, I'll definitely post the info so newbie Mav drivers can have an idea of what to expect.

Ky_Truckers_Gal welcome to my thread and thanks for the feedback. Good to know my ramblings have come in handy for CrazyFox.

Right now Redcoat is at my mom's house in Mississippi. He got a dispatch to pick up a load of conduit from Cedar Springs, GA on Friday and is scheduled to drop it off in Louisville, KY on Monday. Now, it's 588 miles from Cedar Springs to Louisville. But since Redcoat got hung out last weekend, they made sure he got "home" this weekend. Remember, Mississippi is not really his home. North Carolina is but he's got a MS license so that's where he gets sent. Anyway, going "home" to Tupelo adds 180 OOR miles to the trip so it made sense to go there instead of NC which would have more than doubled the miles (1182 total). I'm hoping his FM can try to route him in this direction soon because I have a couple things that needs fixed on our rig and I hate having to pay somebody to do a job that RC could do if only he could come home to NC.

    Stay tuned.
