Glass kinda depends who you talk to and what area you run. Some of them say they arent getting miles because of too much waiting on customers. It seems the best glass miles reports are from guys runnin dedicated in one area like wichita falls tx.

Do you have to do that for the temp controlled division as well?

Hehehe Mount Maverick... that scared the hell out of me when I saw it, and it turned out to be easy. It was the 3 minutes on that freaking stairmaster thing that almost killed me LOL.

wulfman75 - Everyone has to pass the same physical test. It's really not that bad, except for the stairmaster part :)

Hey Dan thanks I appreciate the reply. I think I'm gonna apply and talk to them. Be a great company and it'll save me 4 grand by not having to shell it out for school. Do you guys ever haul hazmat?

@Danfromwindsor - I live in Ft. Worth, Tx; so Wichita Falls is right up the road for me! May not be necessary from a "dedicated" point; but I bet there's plenty of work to be had..Still looking at Glass & Reefer div. Decisions, decisions..Lol! I'm needing a salary of like $65K+ (due to bills, mortg, blah, blah) ya know. Thank-you; sir....

Pilot1: As long as you're available to run freight for any given weekend, you're guaranteed to be paid for at least 800 miles if you don't hit 800 actual miles.

Also, from what I've been told, if you're available to run freight for an entire week that has no holidays, and there's not enough freight to get you enough miles to hit $400, you're guaranteed a minimum of $400 on your check (before any deductions). I can't 100% confirm that, because I have never had that slow of a week here.

I also live in Fort Worth. I think you're too far away for the dedicated run (you must live within 75 miles of Wichita Falls), but there's plenty of miles out there. Glass division pays the highest I believe.

Never hurts to ask even if you think hou may ne too far away for wichita falls. They bend on things like that occasionally depending on your location relevant to running area and their immediate need for help on an account. As for $65k uh you arent going to see tgat anywhere in trucking your first year and realistically thats goin to be a difficult (not impossible) number to hit as a company driver period.

That's a good point, being that Fort Worth is only 90 miles from Wichita Falls, they may make an exception. If I remember right, they were looking VERY hard for people for that exact account not too long ago. They could easily forget about the 15 mile difference if they need the help.

65k... wow, I hope one day I can make that... but you definitely won't see it in your first few years of trucking as a company driver. Regardless of what ANY recruiter from ANY company might tell you, I'd expect around 30k - 35k your first year.
