I worked for maverick for a year. There terminals are better than most, training is good and cpm pay is good.
I made a few friends and we talk everyday. I worked hard ,delivered early never failed a load and never got a newer truck i requested and had to much time waiting at shippers and waiting for loads. I beleive maverick could have better control of their fleet but they seem to only look out for a certain part of their drivers. I made about 30k a yr. its a good place to start but dont be surprised to see almost your whole class gone in 6 months, after a year i dont think any of us are there. Just dont expect to much, just learn and try to prepare yourself smartly for deliveries and pickup, call for directions from shipper or your trainer, use a truck GPS and a smartphone has apps for truckstops. Try to zoom in on your shipper/con. and get a good map view of the turns and roads, it will build your confidence, you dont want to get lost or u-turn,as they say "reduce the risk" and join us older drivers on the road!
