LOL! My recruiter corrected me pretty quickly when speaking with her about the TCD division and I called it the reefer div.!

Well, been on the truck for two weeks now and I haven't experienced much wait time at all. Actually we have done a lot of drop and hook. We have timed our breaks so that we are on break while they are unloading or loading. We get plenty of miles.
I have enjoyed the time so far. My instructor had home time this week end so I have been sitting in a motel since Friday night. I have gotten back into the saddle pretty easily and I do enjoy being back.
I had an interesting day yesterday .. for a short part of it anyway
I went to check on my laundry in washing machine which is in the hallway n a a little alcove, and the machine had sprung a leak. Not a little leak, I mean A GARDEN HOSE AT FULL BLAST KINDA LEAK.
It flooded the hallway and the alcove. I turned off the machine and the water and they came and cleaned up the mess and let me use their laundry room to finish my clothes. It was a big mess.
Then a little later I had a root beer in the fridge and it FROZE and busted open spewing root beer all over the place including me. Fortunately it was ice so it cleaned up easy but I was sticky from head to toe. Had to take a shower.
The rest of the day was quite. Whew. They will be glad when I am gone I am sure.
I look forward to getting my own truck and getting out there and making some real money. My friend Cowboy just started as an experienced driver and he has been getting around 3000 miles a week. Really running hard. Not much wait time in that week.
Headed out again tomorrow for the final week(s) I am readyjxu417 Thanks this. -

Ok now things have gotten a little messed up. I was getting ready to go back out on the road Monday when my trainer called and told me that he had slipped and strained his ankle and his wrist and banged up his knee. So, he couldn't go back out for a week because he has to retake the agility test on Monday following his drs release. So, Maverick put with another trainer for a week to finish out my 21 days. Only problem is he is a flatbedder! So all I have to do is drive and get up to speed on the Qualcomm and refresh my trip planning. I will be back in LR on Friday to begin my final eval to get a truck and then some home time and on the road ... Finally
it has been great though and I am enjoying it a lot.jxu417 and raetnrunner Thank this. -
Careful! You may decide to come over to the dark side driver!
Doyne Thanks this. -
I have been there before and I did like it but I'm getting older and so I decided to take it easy.
jxu417 Thanks this. -
I got out with a new trainer and finished the week. I am in NLR doings final eval and waiting to get a truck. All in all I enjoyed the training. I think the process that Maverick has in place is a good one. It is a bit of a challenge but worth the effort. BTW the people saying that TCD does a lot of waiting for loads is wrong . I did more waiting in my one week on a flat bed than in two weeks on a TCD truck.
raetnrunner and jxu417 Thank this. -
HA! FINALLY!!! The truth comes out. I KNEW IT!
