    I've never seen anyone that is so determined to undermine people.
    First of all...3hours to secure a load..no wonder you didn't make any $$.

    I think for the sake of the publics safety...kron don't ever pull a flatbed again..

    Treefork and gravelhauler Thank this.

    I ran for Maverick for a number of years, I was one of the few company trucks that ran west coast as well.

    In all my time with Maverick, not once was I ever told not to twist straps on a load.

    Trust me on this, if your on any Maverick yard and your load is in any way not up to company standards, you will know. I have been on the yard numerous times with straps having a twist. Never a mention.

    I think you do not know anything about Maverick.

    This is typical in flatbed freight since 2008. I drive for a competitor. We have seen the same drop in miles. However I have seen a sizeable pay increase during the same period. A lot of flatbed carriers have gone belly up in the last 36 months. There for a while 10 trucks were available for every 1 load that got shipped. I don't think you can judge any of these companies for what they are doing or not doing during this economy. They are all in survival mode.

    drvrtech77 Thanks this.

    Well I performed a miracle again today, strapped, tarped with 8 foot drops, bungees and waited 10 minutes for my paperwork all in less than 90 minutes. Oh and in between strapping and tarping had to move my truck out onto the industrial park road. Oh and I forgot I also took a phonecall from my wife and had a Jehovah's witness stop to talk to me (seriously). All within a 90 minute window. Just another miracle I guess.

    Treefork = SuperTrucker

    It must be the fear of Dave C. that makes you move so fast!

    I undermine people, how? I just say what GENERAL, NOT SPECIALIZED, NOT DEDICATED OTR flatbedding is. LOTS of EXTRA WORK for the same (or less amount of $), lots of extra risk to your life, health, MVR, CSA, DAC (you do know what trucking companies do to the damaged drivers? Do you want to truly feel as a disposed rug,then get hurt and enjoy the sensations), it's just a public service announcement. If these risks are acceptable to you, go ahead, just but be informed. None of the supertruckers in this thread can deny a single word I typed above (well, some would argue that you can make an extra penny or two in flatbedding). Or you can listen to ############ like drvtech77 and drink a cool aid.

    BTW, more likely than not I've made the same or better $ than you did. I was a trainer for Boyd (it's Not much in the supertrucker world, I know, but anyway there are some minimum standards for a trainer), so please, don't make up crap fitting your delusional world.

    Just because Boyd Bros was ripping you off on a mileage pay scale does not mean the flat bed freight you were pulling paid the same or less than van freight. Get a good job pulling flats for percentage and try to beat it with van pay on mileage or percentage, not going to happen...

    Most of these cats don't think past there next home time and have the attitude that it won't happen to me. But I do hope they all have a good long term disability policy. Have seen flatbedders that didn't and it is quite pitiful. I am glad there are people willing to make the sacrifice.

    We get it, flatbedding wasn't for you. Move on, you act like the mortality rate is 86%.
