flatbedders make more per mile not to mention the tarp pay & other accessorials if any. 2500 miles per week isn't bad @ 40+ cpm

If you get tired of flatbedding with all these low miles companies, try to get on with lonestar. Start at 40 cpm, lots of miles, one in maybe 70r 8 loads actually tarp. The average length of haul while I was there was like 1500. Thats awesome for two reasons. Lots of miles when you averaGE 2.5 of those a week. And after securing a load you don't have to mess with the krap for a day or two. You don't have to worry about loading tarping, strapping, driving, delivering, and waiting till the next morning for another load all in a day. Its nice and relaxed. Im no longer there unfortunately because I had trouble with therir elogs one day. To teach me a lesson about messing up they made me sit all day. so needless to say it started a riot. but to those that have 12 months expereince they will hire you. If you don't have flatbed experience they will train. More on this company if you need, but to let you know, I file single and none on taxes and I still brought 2000-2400 every two weeks.

OH, for anyone that thinks that 2500 miles is good, thats a bad week at lonestar. and they do oversize. If you don't like canada make sure you don't tell them about a passportr.

In the interest of keeping this thread on line with the original post, I left Maverick because after going to elogs my mileage was going down and got a state job where I work 4 days a week, have a ton of paid holidays and paid leave and cheap insurance. I got paid about twice as much at
Maverick (glass division) but now I'm home every night and off 3 days a week. -
Ahhh, another government worker, give thanks to the tax payers of NC.Bigcountry8079 Thanks this. -
Simply put, Maverick is the poster child for the ATA. If you agree with what the ATA thinks a trucking company should look like and operate, then go to N. Little Rock and get into your burgandy freightliner.
