I graduated truck driving school in March of 2011, After carefully reviewing a bunch of companies I chose Maverick and Maverick chose me. I headed down to Little Rock, Ark and I made it to my second day. Everything went fine until they where doing the physical they started measuring my back and had questions about it, anyhow they pulled me into a room and told me that it was probably nothing but I needed to get medical release from my doctor and I got sent home. That day sucked so bad because I really wanted to be a Maverick. After a few weeks I went to my appointment and got cleared faxed it down to them and was getting ready to go back when allot of unforseen circumstances happend. I decided the best thing for me at that time was to get a job and put my dream on hold. Now everything is where it needs to be in my life and I called Maverick a couple of weeks ago and they told me as soon as i am ready I can come back and get my second chance. I am really nervous because I have not driven a big rig in almost a year. I do not want to fail at my second chance , Any advice would greatly be appreciated I mean do I take a chance and go down? I do not have the kind of money to take a refresher course.

You'll be fine. Just like Dan said you're going to be going out with a trainer so you can hone your skills. So,come on back and live your dream.

K51977blazer, for what it's worth Maverick sent me home twice. First time for the fact that they didn't like my 40 year old SS card. The second time for minor medical issue involving paper work. Most people told me " oh that's BS, screw them" I took a different view. The first time all I had to do was get a new SS card, took 10 min in the SS office. So I wasn't going to let that get in the way of a job. Second time I had to get a doctors signature, again 5 min with a doctor. I took both of these events as a test of my will. I was not going to give up until something immovable got in my way. No regrets. So get back at it, show them you have what it takes, if you don't you'll wonder forever if you made a mistake.
Good luck to ya. Oh, and for the driving test don't roll back and don't hit anything, it's really just about that simple.
