I was talking to an International salesman that told me they now have a so called tune up program for the maxforce.
Claimed that IH was doing upgrades to the emmission system and that it has helped tremendously. I was wondering if heavyd and any other IH techs have seen an improvement to themaxforce. It would be nice to see some realability hopefully in the maxforce.
If you guys don't know anything about this program I was wondering if the new maxforce is showing any signs of improvement.

The company that I work for has forced Navistar to buy back all of their trucks with the MaxFarce engine and replace them with new trucks with Cummins engines. So I'd call that a 'fail' for the 'new' MaxFarce.

probably doubled the expected lifespan of the engine to a whopping 200,000 miles this time around ... if you get a good one

"companies forcing them to replace maxxforce powered trucks with Cummins powered units".

This is why I see so many young prostars with that "darn" maxxforce motor in them, cheap.

LOL, I have not heard of any updates like that. International does release calibration updates to deal with issues on a regular basis. In all honesty, the number of recalls have dropped. The reliability of egr valves and coolers has increased since the first wave of recalls and premature failures. The new Cummins is looking promising. Medium duty trucks will also be available with Cummins as well.

What horsepower and torque rating do you have and what are your truck specs as far as transmission and rear ends goes?

The maxxforce I drove did fine as long as you didn't idle.

I think all the dpf engines need to keep the idling to a bare minimum. One of the problems I see with the maxforce and I have no actual experience is it looks like a terrible job just to get to anything to work on it. A mechanics nightmare. LOL When I was pulling wrenches I liked working on the vehicles that were easy access.
