I have caled MANY recruiters and talked with many people connected somehow with the industry. I start school a week from this coming monday. A local company that has about 150 or so tractors called me back twice. Called me in for an interview. I took my background check, driving record, papers of when I started my corpration in 04. dot medical card etc Things went Very Well. As long as I have my backing skills down and my CDL A with Hazmat. I am on. Have heard good things from drivers that work for them. ( a friend of mine in a tanker yanker, he has been asking them for me)
I have backed my 15' box alomst every day for 6 years and I also have a 33' travel trailer. I can put both where I want backing no problem. I hope I can pick up backing fairly good since I have a little feel for it already.
They have 48' mainly because of some of the tight spots they go to. When I train they do not want us to drive when one is asleep. After our time they will pay for motel while I train. The trucks are KW's stand up sleepers, no APU's though. He says the trucks have idle up? He says you set the temp in the truck and when it needs to it will strat on it's own. I guess idles laws will hurt me on that one.
I am keeping my figers crossed.
May have a Job
