Wow what kind of company lets people with 3 months exp. become trainers!!!!, what a joke of a company that is, at least swift makes you wait 6 months!!!! Think about it there is guys teaching guys how to drive in winter conditions when they themselfs havent even been in winter conditons yet how is this allowed this is the blind leading the blind, that explains the back up alarms on their trucks.......Before you go start bashing me seriously take a minute go out side and think to yourself how much did you HONESTLY know about truck driving at 3 months??? of course some super trucker will say something like he's been driving since he was 15 and other BS like that, but honestly at 3 months you were still getting lost around the truck stop.

P.S I only brought the "I've been driving since I was 15" thing up because I hear it from almost every driver in their mid 20's trying to look cool infront of some salty dog thats been driving 20+ years funny thing most of them have 3 months exp. and they train for May hahaha

    oneway truth Thanks this.

It's my understanding that it's 3 months with May. You would need a bit more OTR experience than that to get the job.

Yep it is 3 month with May.

As far as 3mo's experience go's. I have been driving class 8 trucks since the early 90's and I don't see much difference between what I do now versus then. I have just done it more times.

I will say that I can't drive the hours I used to drive when I was younger. It just screwed me for the next day.

I would totally agree with you except for the fact that there are more requirments than 3 months otr to be a MENTOR. I also mention the Mentor because we dont train drivers. We assist in refining your skills, but if you cant drive you wont get soloed out.

MTC.....how long were you with May? Another explaination for the Backup alarms may be to let Swift Drivers, and others know you are backing up! I didnt even need to go outside and think about that one either. Lets face May isnt for you, but dont try to lead others down your path. Let them seek there own way.
