Hey Steve, I see your in AZ, I start school in Tucson on the 12th, just wanted to check May out. Can you give me a name of a recruiter in Phoenix. I am going to Pima Community College here and would like to start contacting some companys as I would like to get to work ASAP after school. Have a pre hire from Swift. Just want to cover all bases and get some miles behind me. Any help is appreciated thanks.

I know May pay very well on their per mile, what about driver bonuses. What bonuses are you paid, mileage/idle and such? Being new I don't know all the bonuses. Thanks

No bonus any more, took them all away--budget cuts.
But they do buy new trucks and give them to the newbies...
work there 2 years and rookies get the new trucks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW so no bonuses, that sucks. I guess that is why they pay more per mile. I wonder if there are any plans on bringing drivers bonuses back.

To my knowledge, no plans to bring back any bonus's.

Pay starts at either $.30 or $.32 cpm for newbies. You get a 1/2 cent
raise every 6 months. Truck are not bad..service work usually sucks.

I had a GREAT DM...very good at her job and tryed her best to take care of the drivers on her fleet, but they can only do so much.
Very micro-managed company, fuel, routing, etc....

Thanks, I will call her tomorrow. Does anyone know if they do prehires for students who have just started or do they wait till 2 weeks prior to graduation like I have found with some companies.

They do not pre-hire I was told to submit my application the end of my 2nd to last week. I was told it takes 3-5 days to be processed. I finish school this Thursday I submitted my paperwork last Friday. I was told I should hear on Weds or Thurs.
