Maybe it is time to stop changing to the left lane for cars entering the interstate

I have NO IDEA how many cars I've "allowed to enter the grass and or mud" at the ends of ONRAMPS of Interstate Highways since I began Trucking in late 1998.
Officially OFF THE ROADS, Class A and B style since early 2021.

MANY Of the Hilarious times were DAYS, rarely nights.
I called them "scientists" because they were studying faulty patterns trying to improve yet successfully FAILING.
Countless attempts to merge without INCREASING SPEEDS, to end up running OUT OF ROOM and braking hard.
Not many successfully entered to then catch up and try that "brake check" maneuver because they quickly LEARNED that I didn't reduce speed for pointless reasons, like some nitwit actually believing they were going to use their 1 to 2 ton vehicle to tell a 40 TON Combination Vehicle the new ways and means at those times.
I welcomed the challenges, with "open arms" and throttling UP.

Don't label me an evil Truck Driver because, as you BETTER KNOW, some % of Car Drivers ARE OFF DUTY Truck Drivers and WE still see your Vehicular Foibles.
There were some few times when I allowed some cars to enter in my forward view, not a lot, just some, and usually EMERGENCY VEHICLES.

I'll move over if I can safely do so which usually includes speeding up due to leaving the right lane, I'll slow to 60 if needed since my cruise is usually set at 67, sometimes speeding up to get ahead of the person entering is a viable option since I usually have light loads and my truck tops out at 82.

As for people, often trucks, that wanna race me after I let them on, I'll speed up to get ahead of them and move back over and you can bet I'll resume my original 67mph to force them to pass. Don't like it? Too bad, should have let me back over instead of blocking me in the left/center lane.

I do my thing, it’s their job to merge it’s not mine to let them on. These dumb sonsa#####es that swerve out in the left lane and cut off traffic that’s overtaking them to do it create a bigger hazard than the vehicle on the ramp. If nothing is in my left mirror sure I’ll give em the lane. But if I don’t have time to get a read of what is going on in my left mirror I hold my lane and pace.

Just because you have room to move over without making contact doesn’t make it a good idea. It doesn’t make you courteous either if you have to ########## the left lane to do it

Take a note folks. “Usually means speeding up due to leaving the right lane” he does not just cut over and force braking on all the traffic in the next lane suddenly. He accelerates and merges to the left exactly what those entering on the ramp should be doing also.

    Ignorance.

Ignorant comment. Where did you see this "I would welcome you to try as your stupid tactic of doing 50 in a 65 and then hitting the brakes to let everyone on the highway is causing tremendous build up of traffic behind you that your not even aware of for no reason"

I would benefit from some meds if I ever bothered going to a Doc.

Sounds like when coach used to stick me with heavyweights thinking it would somehow humble me. It didn't work.

Also sounds like no one will ever take us up on our offers. Someday maybe.
