You don't like conservatives? What do you think Jerry Moyes is? A democrat? You work for a conservative.

Oh for goodness sake! Now whether a person is conservative or liberal makes a difference on their opinion of a trucking company? Well I'm a conservative, my husband is employed by swift and soon I will be too.

So let me understand the perspective from a less than one year experience. Probably also Swift is the only company you have ever driven for (just an assumption). With these two points, experience behind the wheel (or should I say at the wheel) and having a good way to compare the differences in companies.
You, kawategra98, are still preaching what your DM and your recruiter have shoved down your throat and you havn't had any opportunity to expand your horizon on what is really going on in this industry. Because of the giant companies, hundreds of smaller, independant companies have put people on their butts, in turn if they were true O/O's or even Lease operators like Swift has, they don't have even unemployment to help their families through the hard time.
If you havn't noticed even Swift isn' hiring any driver with experience. Not because of the 4-6 cents difference in pay, but because an experienced driver won't be the little "yes massa" driver they want. Swift doesn't want any driver who will follow the rules and regulations, and especially any driver who will actually have the nerve to say NO WAY BROTHER!
When you get put on the receiving end of the kick in the butt because you actually stood up for yourself and what is right, you will start to understand that the big corporation isn't worried about you and your family and the bills you have, they are only worried about their bottom line profit. You, the bottom of the line (or pile) are the first to go.

I am an experienced driver and went to the Swift orientation durring my two week vacation from another company. (Free lodging) I got a certified trainers certificate and never left the parking lot durring my road test. It was great fun tape recording their fleet managers in private conversations on how to falsify my log books to get those miles. Did you know that trainers can drive both log books? (trainers, trainees) But they are still better then the ones who wanted me to take parts off JB Hunt trailers to keep rolling.

First off, maybe you should know that I was with Swift for 13 years, I was a trainer first, but then I was dubbed a Mentor, and finally a Senior Mentor. So unless you are talking about many years ago, you say you have been trucking for 10 years, so maybe...anyway the Swift system for becoming a Mentor is not what you are saying, and there is no road test for a Mentor, classes baby, classes--all day event for two days. As far as your log book statement, patooooie!!! And who said anything about stealing parts--maybe south of the border for sure, and those "southern" drivers up here---well you know the old story--bad habits are hard to break might be the case.
So I am going to give you credit for being on the right thread sort of Bad Company culd also indicate BAD Driver. YOur story carries no merit, but it does have many typos.

I sure would like to see that certificate and hear those tapes. :biggrin_25519:

I find it a bit difficult to accept that Swift would allow you to take a "trainers" course while you're working for another company.
