Maybe Swift is bad because of their DRIVERS

Had a Swift driver last week asking how to get to Brea while driving on the 60 freeway westbound through Chino, Calif. about 5 am.
The Swift driver was getting fustrated because he kept pronouncing the city "Breea" over the cb and it took a few minutes for another driver to figure out what city he actually wanted. One driver was telling him to take the 57 freeway south but the Swift driver was getting confused and angry. Swift ends up copping an attitude and calls the driver who is trying to help him a &%#% idiot. So the driver tells swift to stay on the 60 west till he gets to the 10,5,101 interchange near downtown. He told Swift to take the 101 north and he will see the signs for the city of Brea. Anyone who knows L.A.'s freeways knows thats heading into downtown Los Angeles with the morning rush hour(s). I exited the 60 freeway at Brea Canyon and saw the Swift driver continue west towards L.A. completely missing his 57 freeway exit.
I would have offered to help but I kept quiet since Swift decided to start copping an attitude and using foul language. There is no reason to start getting disrespectful at another driver who is trying to help even if you are getting confused or angry. This could have been avoided if Swift looked at a map. He said he didn't have a map or Atlas when somebody asked if he even bothered to look at his map.
I'm sure the end result of being in the wrong county in rush hour(s) near downtown L.A. with no knowlege of the freeway system in L.A. was not pretty.

 

Look on any forum and you will see the same post, the experienced driver warning the ####### driver from(insert company here) that would not listen to the great advice that was so easily laid out for them. Just look around it is on every site.

 

I'd write it off too but I've heard exchanges just like this on the CB. It's just happened so much that it looks like an urban legend. Besides, it's exactly what I'd do to someone who got obnoxious with me.

when i drove for them, i had come to the point where i quit helping other drivers of that company. many of them would either look and tell me to screw off, tell me that they don't need help from a kid, or something of the latter. if he had said something like that to me over the cb, i would have done the same thing and had him go through downtown los angeles' morning rush hour. i wouldn't have felt any remorse for him.

 

I myself like to give everybody the benefit of the doubt ..most of these ladies and gentlemen out here are all tryn really hard to make a living the best way they know how.If you see someone making a mistake or doin something that will harm them or others try to politley correct that person,but. sometimes i know that does not work.COEXIST.

 

I know your post is old, but I'm just now seeing it.

The minimum speed on an Interstate is 40MPH. The limit is not a requirement.

This is why there are passing lanes. Perhaps you would benefit from using them instead of complaining about other drivers that prefer to conserve fuel.

 

They can avoid conserving fuel 3 lanes wide. Anytime....
