I guess you could buy a bicycle. Because ev is coming. Whether we like it or not. And China is leading the way.Last edited: Nov 21, 2024
gentleroger and 86scotty Thank this. -
The thing about electric and batteries and “clean air” and the environment is that in this country we see none of the downsides to EV’s at the moment. A new mine gets proposed here and there are lawsuits trying to stop it. China isn’t leading the way, they pretty much control the materials needed to manufacture batteries at this point.
EV’s should be an alternative to internal combustion engines. The market should be allowed to decide what type of vehicle they want, it shouldn’t be mandated with deadlines. But everyone in this country is being sold a bill of goods on “green energy” and EV’s and blah blah. Meanwhile most have zero idea what it takes to actually build that electric vehicle or manufacture the batteries to store power from solar and wind.
I suggest to anyone buying into what they’re selling as green energy and zero emission vehicles that they take the time and read the book Cobalt Red. Maybe take some time and learn where those minerals for the batteries start out and how bad all forms of pollution are where the mining takes place, all so we can pat ourselves on the back here for being “environmentally conscious”.W923, wis bang, Deere hunter and 7 others Thank this. -
Battery operated vehicles will never become the standard. In our lifetime anyway. Do some research on what it would take to have the entire population on Battery Powered vehicles. Our infrastructure is fifty plus years away from being able to handle that load. That’s if we started upgrading today…….
Deere hunter and thatsright Thank this. -

I have yet to see a commercial vehicle charging station anywhere in our current infrastructure. Not even new truck stops. Can a person even buy a Tesla semi yet?...of course after they've sold all their wordly possesions and financed themselves up the whazoo, all in the name of going green.
Deere hunter, D.Tibbitt and 77fib77 Thank this. -

Minerals are irrelevant since new technology is coming out around the world. What we see today. Probably won't exist in 5 years.
VW has partnered with a company producing technology that has a 750 mile range and charges in 15 minutes.
And that's just one partnership. -
Ev is coming. Whether we like it or not. Start looking at bicycles cuz gas won't be around forever.
