what exactly is their policy? i don't mind being cold, i like the cold, i'm worried about being out here in Phoenix in freakin June and not being able to idle to stay cool. so tell me, anyone who has any information, what does the policy state, and what are the exceptions? Thank you in advance!

It is a percentage they give you per month based on how many hours your engine is running. You can check on the qualcomm on "sensor tracks" and it will tell you where you stand. There are some exceptions and if there is a heat wave you can contact your DM and get an idle exception. Either way the trucks only idle for 5 minutes and shutdown. You can go tap the clutch pedal or gas and it will reset and idle for another 5 minutes. If you go over and drive a good 8 hours with out stopping and idling your percentage will come down. One thing that helps is to get a 12volt fan at a truck stop. It will help to keep you cool. They cost like $20 or less. Good luck.

You know that you can set your cruise control and your truck won't shut down right?

Idle percent depends on the time of year it is----
June, July, August,September are the highest months for Idle at
30%. But if you need more you can Qcomm your DM for an extention....I never had a problem with Idle requests from my DM
as long as its within reason.NorthWest Wonder Thanks this. -
