I will say at a 172000 miles it started smoking for some reason, got it fixed under warranty of course and the truck and I has been married ever since. This vehicle has over 900000 miles on it. My fuel mileage is 7 plus and things has really stayed together. I will say this, when I purchased the dump truck I took it to the church and my pastor prayed that God grant me much success with it and I believe that God honored that prayer. So put God first and pray for your need and see how He allows you to work it out. You might be surprised. This 2006 sterling dump bucket has been one great adventure I can promise you that.

Freightliner have gone to the DD13 and DD15 motors. If you have a look at one, you will find they are pretty much MBE motors mate
Have a look over one, and compare that to a series 60 and a MBE. The similarities will be blatantly obvious to one, and nothing to do with the other.
I can just speak of personal experience over the past 753k miles is all, as well as the other 2 O/O's that bought them too that I know personally.
If a rebuilt motor goes bad soon after, then I would be looking at the shop that did it myself. I am pretty picky about who wrenches on my truck, and if I am on the road, there is a good chance I will fix it myself due to not knowing the "mechanics" that would be working on it.
Not saying they are perfect motors, as non of them are. Just that they aren't as bad as some make out.

I personally got one new 2007 Columbia with MB 4000
Right now in 2023 has close to 1 500 000 miles yes miles not Kilometers, and I replaced EGR Small they have it was my mistake, and just replace full line just. Last 3 weeks ago I will never drive another engine again, I used to have 3406 Cat but those MB? It’s fantastic,, AND I work for a tanker company, heavy all the times

What rpm do you run yours at and what speed I around 80000 gross all the time

I found a MBE brochure online and it stated to gear accordingly at road speed. 1500 rpms for economy, 1600 rpms for performance. Make sure you calculate the correct tire size and gear ratios.
