I had an intermittent check engine light code 102, manifold temp turbo boost sensor. Stopped at a freightliner dealer. They diagnosed it as a faulty sensor. I left the truck and they replaced the sensor and I picked up the truck the next day. I left and immediately noticed the truck was running about 20 to 25 degrees hotter than it ever had so returned to the dealer. They blamed it on everything except a faulty new sensor. They said that sensor would not cause engine to run hotter. I even asked if they had changed any engine parameters that might cause it to run hotter. Kind of p***ed me off. My question is could the manifold air temp cause an increase in engine temp, are there parameters that could cause an increase in temp or is this just the biggest coincidence in the world !!!

no. not related problems. but with bad sensor engine poewer is derated. so less power - less heat.

Nornal temperature for MB PLD engines is 87-98 dgr C, 103 dgr C - engine protection applied
