Actually they got some nice trailers from my side of the country compares to what I pull in LTL and about the same or better equipment then I had at US Foods. Now all foodservice companies honestly don't give a crap about drivers. They pay you to work, do your route, and go home. It's all about the money to them. There are friendly management but its all about the money to be honest.

I think bottom line is: will your 'company driver w-2' at the beggining of next year show $90k gross or not. I'll take $39k per year if you give me all the commodities, days off, free pillows, blankets, lounge chairs.....that i want, no questioning my idling, mileage, nor delivery times, etc. - but for $90k w/paid medical, legal, and 100% 401k match and other benies: i'll hand load each piece one by one into a 53 footer - like stacking uncovered eggs in the back of a pick up truck, all stacked by size and color and all to the same height, then unload them 700miles away by hand into a store with no ramp/no dock/no help , and all within 12 hours - every single day, 7 days per week.(Then retire 10 years from now living quite comfortably in a souped-up mountain cabin along with all the latest and modern equipment).
prefontaine Thanks this. -
Hey guys , an MBM recruiter I believe it was contacted me today and saw my app , he asked me a couple of questions and said that he was gonna be taking a look at my MVR , and that he will be in touch with be..... I have 1 year experience, but he did say that they'd prefer at 1 and half to 2 years but that if I got what it takes that I should b fine... Is this good thing? He also asked if I was interested in either local or regional ???? I said local , but well see what happened
-
Depends. Most ask for experience cause they have time backing up,driving, unloading, dealing with customers, know how to drive with heavy/light loads, understand what the truck/trailer is capable and not capable of. Idk. Would help if you had sock experience or experience breaking down pallets where this job is requiring
-
I currently do that now, I distribute beer so I know how to back up, I run up a dolly all day long, deliver to multiple stops a day,use power jacks, unload every case off my truck and rotate the product, also use handheld and process invoices..... I got what it takes, but it's up to them!!!!!
-
Then that should be good enough I would assume
-
how long took them to contact you?when did you fill out the application?
-
So what kind of money do you make on that beer gig.
-
It took about 2 weeks , so yea well see what happens.... In my current job I have one year in.... and make about 3000 a month, I'm not at top pay yet, but other guys make much more because they been there longer..... It's a good gig to start building some driving experience, but I'd like to make more in food service.....
