They didn't hair test when I started with them back in February. However, I do not know if they've started doing that test since.

I really couldn't say for sure one way or another on that one. A guy I went thru training with hand very visible tats on his arms, & they seemed to be no big deal. Might be best to call & speak with a recruiter directly. They might have you submit a picture of the facial tat. Either way I'd think it'd be in your own best interest to do that ahead of time just so you don't end up wasting your own time going to orientation only to find out once ya get there they don't want to hire ya due to the tat. But like I said, I don't know for sure if it will hinder you or not.

Just to horn in, i have question about how things work once you get a truck. My question is where do you have a choice of parking your rig for hometime. And then how do ya get back and forth while you're parked. The reason for my question(s), i actually had two, a recruitor visited the class i'm in and gave us the speil. I also wanna make good the first time out, and this gig really didnt' sound to bad at all.

When I was with McElroy, I knew some guys that parked their rig at their house. If you decide to go that route, keep in mind you'll need room for the tractor AND trailer, as they typically send you home on Fridays loaded, and they allow bobtailing only for very special circumstances.

Some guys park their rigs at a Lowes store near where they live. MTL hauls a lot for Lowes, & lost of their stores will allow MTL drivers to park during hometime. I found a small Mom-n-Pop convenience store/truck stop near my house that let me park mine on their lot.

As as for getting to & from your rig, well, that'd be up to you. I just parked my personal vehicle at the store all week. The guy who was my driver trainer would have his wife or his son bring him to the truck & pick him up at the end of the week.

    ashltn Thanks this.
