Hey TruckersReport,
Are there any current or past drivers for McElroy on the forum? I am interested in the company and have a few questions. Please comment or send me a PM if you could help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I bought a Used truck from them in the past before my Freightliner. It used to be a 9400 International 2005. I did research on this Company to see how they did their Maintenance on their Tractors before i bought it. They have a Facebook Page McElroy Truck Lines. They are located in Cuba Alabama, border with Miss. Again, never drove for them but what i saw is that this Company to me is a very GOOD Flatbed Company! Great fos a Company Driver Position for newbies. Saw alot of their trucks in New Yersey, PA. TN. They pull alot of Steel Coils and Home Depots Account. I thought they have great Benefits for Company Drivers. They now used the new Internationals prostar Automatic. If i was not a Owner Operator and was looking for a Company Driver Position, McElroy would be my First Choice! Look for the Facebook page and ask the drivers Questions. Thats how i got inside info before i bought the Truck. Keep on Trucking!

Ga Rookie-
i start training for McElroy on the 11th down in Pleasant Hill, NC. I had done a ton of research before choosing them and I tell u what....mostly 95%of what I read or heard was all positive. I'm really excited to be getting an opportunity to work for them. The benefits are great and I myself am a new driver and to get in with such a company is great. What appealed to me was I was looking for a company that I could get home every night and they can do that for me. Where I am located in WV, there is a Lowes distribution center 15mins away in Hagerstown, MD and they run dedicated for them out of that location. I will still get weekends off. Pay is definitely not as great as it would be OTR, but I was more worried about getting home and getting through that first year with a company. one of the things I remember most in my research is there is a company driver for them who said he has driven for them 7years and never missed a weekend home. Good luck to you,but if u get the chance I think you should give them a try. They still have to want to hire u though, unlike a lot of companies they are not desperate to hire u, just because you have a CDL. They start at .40 PCM, which I've researched as good starting pay for Flatbed. There is another company near me called Bowman and they start newbie flatbeds at .34 cpmnewtruckerwife84 and farmboy80 Thank this. -
I did a lot of research before deciding to go with Maverick, but McElroy was right there in the end as well. From what I've heard they are a good company that treats their drivers well. Good luck!
newtruckerwife84 Thanks this.
