I know they do not generate a lot of complaints. From what I understand, the mainstay is hauling tires. I think that McGriff owns a tire recapping facility in Cullman, Al. I would expect that they haul tires outbound, and general freight back into central Alabama.
The only caution I would offer, is to find out who does the unloading of those tires. A whole load of those things can be exhausting work if you have to roll them to the rear of the trailer. If that's not a problem, at least check into what they pay a driver to do it. It should be decent.
Their safety numbers are decent. The only problem area I see with them is logs. They are slightly over the national average in terms of drivers being caught in violation.
In the past, I've looked at them as a possible company to check into for myself, but better options came up. -
Hey bud..see my reply to the other driver..been there over 2 yrs..no complaints..

Husband has been OTR for over 20 yrs. We had own authority for nearly 8 yrs. Signed on to McGriff as o/o very recently and they have been very good to us. He was out for 2-3 weeks when I ended up in the hospital. They did what it took to get him back to central FL to be with me and the kids. He can be home when he chooses. He just came in today after 2 weeks, our choice. I'll need him back in for the 12th of Oct when I have brain surgery. The miles have been good, the pay and they have helped us with some issues. I think what you get from a job is only as good as what you give the employer, in many cases. So far we are happy with them.
