On august 9,2011 I attempted to del a load of scrap bales of cardboard to this paper co. The plant is on same property as an electric power plant and the gate is run by guards employed by g4S security svcs which is a govt contractor.
I showed up at 1800 for 1830 & was told sit tight & will come get you when ready. Well after an hour goes past my appt time I ask again and the ignorant guard whose name is ofc.shelley states that I don't have an appt and "I'll let you in when say so".
I then state that I'm going to call dispatch to find out what's going on, at that point I walk out back to my truck and he runs out to chase me.
I ask him what's the problem & his response was "you can take that trash you got and get the h*** out of here and not come back with that trash."
He continued to make threats while his partner put his hand on his gun like he wanted to draw it.

Well next day I del load and try to pick up my reload out of paper mill and there was a mix up with pick up # which got squared away in 2min in which the supervisor capt. Maldanado said " beat it or I'll call the state police and have you removed"

According to my company and the shipper this is ongoing problem with guards threatening the drivers. The shipper has no control over what security does due to them contracted to power plant.

    lanice7 Thanks this.

You sure you didn't call 'em dirty, lowlife, yella bellied sissies or something? Why would a supervisor have a problem with you?

You have to admit some security guards just have an over inflated sense of importance. Most though are just trying to do their job. They can and will ruin your day if you happen to piss them off. Especially the ones that control entry and exit.

These guards might have wanted to be police officers but couldn't pass the tests for whatever reason. Also if this behavior was noticed by someone higher up their food chain chances are they would be working shopping cart detail at the Piggly Wiggly. The world is just full of schmucks.

I'm waiting at this plant to unload/reload. Talked with Ofc. Shelley at the guard shack when I checked in, he didn't come off as anything other than the typical emotionless Navajo. Maybe they clipped his wings or I haven't pissed him off yet, lol!

After I got here (hour 6 and counting) I talked to a USA Truck driver who was repowering in the dirt lot near the tracks. He had to come back after unloading/loading at the mill when one of his co-workers got banned from the property when he made some ######## remarks to Shelley.

I was there nealy 7 hrs. I can understand why most of the other drivers were with mega haulers. Independents and small fleets don't come back a 2nd time!
2 Swift trucks had to leave when their 14 hour clocks ran out.
