if OTR isnt yo lifestyle, what makes you think food delivery is or will be?; food delivery will probably require early mornn hours or odd hours. Try going to college and getting a B.A. degree.......You want the big bucks in trk drivin world - it's food or tanker - or flatbed .... lifestyle comes with it; you want the same amount of money but better conditions, GO TO COLLEGE (shortest way is something like a Geography Major with Teaching Credentials or Nursing; Vocational is Plumbing, but electricians make more and carpentry will make you a contractor)

LMAO! U tell him trucsugma. Thats what I was trying to say when he said it wasnt his lifestyle? To me food service is the hardest most difficult of all the truck driving jobs, especially the schedule. I mean when ur in foodservice u normally have to work weekends, nights, days, and just about every holiday. Thats why i got out of it. Im Tanker driver now. Plus its better to do the rough schedule while ur young versus doing it when ur older and at 22 if u have no family to worry about then thats the best time to be doing it!

I've been with Mclane for over a yr. When you first start you will be on the extraboard. Extraboard was really tough, didn't know if you are working or not and if you wasn't you would be on call. It was tough ...especially with trying to maintain a family...now I work 2 two day routes and 1 day route. On my 1 day route I make anywhere from $375 to $450 depending on the piece count, and that's working 12 -13hrs 1200-1400 cases 10 stops... It is pretty tough work but once you see your paycheck it makes you feel good that you did the best you can do to provide for your family. Yes it's not for everybody but if you are strong mentally and you have a strong woman behind you...than I say go for it good luck
