i think the main problem was using the trailer the first time--kinda sets a precedent to dispatch--and dispatch was wrong in wanting you to use a trailer which wasnt roadworthy--but in the end the call does come down to the driver--its you who says the trailer can go or not--you should have stood up to them--and not ended up screwing yourself in the end

i am different from you. this country is in the shape it's in because of people that believe in it too much. if you believe it can do no wrong then, when it does wrong, you will not look for it, and will not detect it. that has already happened and now, it's too late. i always said a red neck will prove to be terminal, in one way or another. just too bad it had to take America down, with it...
the same goes for the industry. don't look now, but it has changed, as has everything here. now money talks, and bulls**t walks - just like every other industry... but this one is a little different.
research accidents involving rigs, then ask yourself, how many dead, because of greed? the kind of greed displayed so very plainly by mcleod, for all to see! -

i have been cursed out/yelled at for not wanting to take a trailer that had worn out brakes(was on speaker phone)--big deal- the trailer still isnt moving no matter what they call me
but i do understand how problems can arise while you are pulling a load--but i think you could have handled it better, cause in the end you only screwed yourself
not sure if i agree with everybody ragging you about it--but i am sure everybody has done stuff in the heat of the moment that maybe wasnt in their best interests
check your dac--make a rebuttal on it---with mcleoads stellar reputation--it might not hurt your career that muchkid_cardiac and trucker_101 Thank this. -

Getting a sheepskin doesn't make you intelligent. It only means you are able to parrot back to the Prof what he or she just told you. BTW: You're not the only one aaround here with degrees. Many of us are finding they aren't worth the paper they're printed on. I actually put mine to work for myself until the doctor retired me. What have you done with a Bachelor's Degree in Photography?
Ya know? The only reason I keep returning to this thread is for the entertainment value of an admitted rookie trying to teach a bunch of vets what "safe" weights are and how to inspect brakes. And then call them names when they try to set said rookie straight. Imbecilic. -
Which version is it ?
1) After loading the brakes were screaming, like banshees! Sounded like they were right in the cab with me. Oil on the brake linings. No doubt of it.
2) the oil was not running out of the brake drums, so it was not visible
