This month I need to update my MCS-150. I currently have two selections in the Cargo Carried section: Fresh Produce and Meat. What happens to my insurance if I select more options in Cargo Carried?

    Nothing.
My agent said it's just a list for insurance company to know what you haul the most.
I asked my agent, what if I haul something not listed. He said coverage is still good.

I've had brokers ask me about the mcs-list.

    PE_T Thanks this.

Mine only has "General Freight". I think where it would start to impact insurance rates would be if you were to check off "Liquids/Gases", "Chemicals", "Passengers" or perhaps "Livestock". But, I've never asked...

I called my insurance agent, and she said that adding General Freight and Refrigerated Food wouldn’t affect me. I checked the former mega reefer company I used to work for, and they have these four selected.
