MCT "Training" Pay.

Did a lot of research on starter company's. Emailed a prominent/knowlegable website owner. Sooo chose MCT to start with as a plan. However have not Applied formally and keep researching. That is how found this thread.

At 55 single. No children. Never married. A mediocre Artist and small business person. Decided to get out of the Rat Race that is NYC. Hold unto my little savings and stop living to work. To just pay exorbitant rent to SlumLords and ConLords.

Enjoyed a long while back driving a straight job through out the Metro Area. That is. Mostly the longer runs. Certainly not the hassles of getting paid sometimes and getting ripped off a few times by the customer.

Nice to visit. If you are a home body. Stay away from NYC. The streets are not lined with Gold. You can waste a life time trying.

1) South Dakota was a Natural choice. After grudgingly paying. Nyc City Income Tax/State/Federal. 8.25% sales tax on almost everything. They do not Tax
the Air you Breath in the City Yet. NYC/NYs uses the Federal Minimum wage. Yup Most people have Flat Mates. Several. Not just the illegal aliens who are welcome in NYC.

2) South Dakota allows a person to be a Mobile vehicle & driving license registrant. In other words. As an OTR driver. Do not have to have an apartment/roomate or friends address. Of course my RV is stored in Sf when on the road. So is my junk at the same storage facility.

Just in case was not clear. SD does not have an Income Tax. Oh did I mention outrageous auto Insurance rates for good Drivers?

So after choosing my new Home State. Next was where to get the CDL. My research showed serious complaints about a school in Missouri. Same abreviation but clearly not Midwest...yada yada MCT transportation............

Not tooo late to change my mind.

So Sufu what is your detailed Report? Is it 10,000 x .08? 5,000 x .08? How did the recruiter come up with $350. ? How did you come up with $250. ?

A starter company is just that. They get Labor a bit or more below current Market Value. You get your experience and Miles in to move to a better paying driving job. Or one that suits your particular needs. You might even stay at the starter company.

If you feel you have been Had. Conned please let us know the details. Your experience ought to match for the most part what the recruiter stated in my opinion. Living most of my Life in NYC. Know full well about Corporate & business Integrity. They make you feel like you are the Crazy one.

My expectation is $25,000 - $30,000 the first year. My thought is if problems are appearing right from the Start. This bodes poorly. Being the unique Set-up
they have MCT. A lot of how/what a newbi driver experiences will depend on what fleet you drive for.

SO WHAT ARE THE FACTS !!!!!!!!!!!!! It is in the Details !!!!! How is the School Training? Where is it? The equipment? Cost of Lodging? hidden up-front costs?

Best Hope Sufi you post back and it went well. Just possibly misunderstandings. Or do you feel they conned you? The recruiter? Their name ?
