As a few of you know I went through a GREAT CDL Training Company, did there 3 1/2 training class, and got bit by the driving bug. However due to an injury I received while saving someones life, an injury I had taken injections for and then Physical Therapy and the pain was gone) Reared it's ugly head while on the road with my trainer and I was FORCED OFF THE TRUCK and OUT of the Company. I have found a NEW Dr, that has almost guaranteed that I could get back on the road, hopefully before Summer end. Here is the thing Company A SAYS "Since you didn't finish training you CAN NOT come back to us" I DO NOT have a CDL, but am 100% confident I could spend 2 hrs in a truck to knock out the cob webs, I could easily knock out the Pre-Trip and Road Test with out an issue. (ONE Advantage to having an EIDETIC Memory) I have talked to Jim Palmer, and Prime, and Roehl, and all the other "training" Companies. Is there away to test out and get my CDL with OUT going through TRAINING Again. I feel it would be a waste of my time and a waste of THEIR time for me to go through training again, I already KNOW how to pre-trip,trip plan, Alley Dock, Off Set back, parallel park, safe operation of a Tractor Trailer down the interstate. MOST Companies say you have to go through 3-4 weeks of school before you get A PAY Check. When I went with my previous company it was 4 weeks BEFORE I got a pay check and I can't afford to go a MONTH WITH OUT getting paid.
There aren't to many Mom and Pop Companies around here that would afford me to "Borrow" a 200k truck to take a test in....Just putting feelers out.

Sounds like you just need a truck to test in, right ? Depending where you live, there are 3rd party rental trucks available, such as san Bernardino, Ca commercial test office. You rent his truck which is parked at the DMV facility for about $200 which includes an hr to brush up before you test. I.ve heard other states doing this also like Tx/Ga. Check around

You don't have a CDL... school and training is most likely in your future.
    Just get it over with.

Even if you can test out and get the CDL on your own, most companies will want you to train. Especially when they hear you didn't complete training.....

Just a thought . Roehl will pay $500 a week while you are in CDL school and cover meals etc.

That's what I am afraid of, have to go through training AGAIN but if that is the BOTTOM Line, then I will do it, It isn't below me to do training again it's just RIGHT NOW I can't afford to be OFF for 4 weeks with OUT pay. That is why I put the feeler out their for suggestions...THANK YOU

I see we're from the same area. If you're able to find a truck to take your test, Castellini up in Wilder KY has a Driver Finishing Program that could help you avoid problems with a company requiring more training.

You'll need to find a way to get your A's on your own first though...

I've talked to some of their drivers and they seem to like it. Hourly pay and home a lot.

I know it's not what you was hoping but companies have policies and won't change them for anyone. So hurry up get your training over with and make sure you'll be able to pass the physical.

Passing the physical isn't a problem, passed it before, just want to make sure I can keep the pain at bay long enough. The ##### of it was, I had NO ISSUES for 6 months before going to school, 12 hr days standing on the pad and sitting in the truck NO ISSUES, I know what caused the relapse in pain. Working on some sort of regime that hopefully doesn't require surgery or narcotics, (that is what MOST Dr's wanna do...Give you NARCOTICS, which we all know won't go real well with FMCSA
