Like the title says, me and the wife are thinking about team driving and I need some suggestions on decemt companies. The issue is I have 10 years experience amd she is goimg to go to school and get her CDL. So I need a company that is good for teams, will take an unexperianced driver and run her with a trainer or let me train her. Then we can run team. BUT I am not going to run for a company like swift or us express just to get her a year of experience. Here is what I am hoping to find.
    - Decent trucks
    - Not autos because I want her to learn how to drive a real truck.
    - probably wont get this but hopefully 13 speeds because 10s suck.
    - and if at all possible apus on the truck or if not the company better not car if the trick is idled when we are sitting when its hot or cold.
    - hopefully long runs also
    - dry van or reefer
    - not to worried about getting home all the time. As long as we can for a few days a month or so.

If anyone knows of any decent companies like that then let me know. Thanks guys and gals.

Check out his posts. He may have answered this already for another driver.

Cfi was a company that was big on teams back when they were Conway truck load. I'm not sure of now. But there are several companies that are changing because of elogs. And are wanting teams instead of solo.

What's wrong with autos?? Best thing ever invented!! You'll appreciate it in heavy traffic. I don't miss a standard at all.

Try Fedex ground. Called them and see what Cdl schools they'll accept.

    #1don Thanks this.

I have driven an auto. No thanks. I want her to learn on a manual so she know how to drive one well so she is not limited to an auto like a lot of drivers know. I drove for fedex ground for 5 years. I am looking for a normal otr company with either van frieght or reefer.

It's not about mega carriers it's about truck manufacturers with them being built with autos as standard equipment and that is how the trucking industry has and is being changed
