It seems that the people at Mawk make the conversion pretty simple as well with their wiring harness...all these resources you men have given me, gives me and my old truck new found piece of mind. I really appreciate the input!!!! This isnt something that I plan on doing tomorrow(knock on wood). As long as the old 3406 keeps chugging away, Im gonna run her. With the close near future holding an inframe though, I really think the conversion would be the way to go, in order to get ahead of the game and save money in the long run. Another question: The EOBRs..... are there particulars when it comes to the ECMs, that they will adapt to? Say 70 pin vs 40. I know that the 3406E is a tried tested and true engine over the C15. Im wondering though if the E Model CATs electronic characteristics would support an EOBR?

    are you serios?

3406 E got other camshaft, other cyl. head, injectors... it would be too expencive project. Look for 3406E on JY and change engine if you want

Why not stick a ECM from an electro engine up under your floorboard run the wires inside and then you have something to plug the EOBR into? Then at your whim you can turn the ECM on or off independently of whether you're rolling down the road with your 3406C.

I think there are EOBRs for non computer engines aren't there? There's a lot of us out there.
