although on the surface a cool idea, my thought (as a former mechanic myself) would be that much smaller engines/transaxles would have to be used, and interior space for the front passengers will be greatly reduced. if anyone noticed, NO engine/transaxle is shown in any of the animation, leaving me to future believe, this will be on electric cars only.

i also cannot "see" it being a viable steering system for a big truck, as too much space will be required, as it is now, with just about any diesel engine.

gonna be for electric vehicles only, my best guess.

A rig that sends power to individual wheels as needed could use that kind of turning radius. I think a RWD vehicle would be wearing parts out trying to push through the turn where a FWD would more easily pull the front end wherever the wheels point.

Probably wouldn't get that kind of wheel cut without hitting the frame rails though unfortunately.

Yep ^^^^, but the other problem will be that this will only benefit about 2% of drivers. The other 98% will just destroy their fairings quicker.

Everyone else is focusing on frame rub etc, im more concerned with the force on the wheels in a full turn, in a truck it seems like youre asking a LOT of the ubolts and front springs in a semi

(Lamemule seems to have referenced it already)

Yep. I agree. Still limited by cv joint and linkage movement. I bet they make them so each one just has its own electric motor that rotates similar to a sprinkler head. Couple grand each to replace when they go bad every year and an extra ten grand added to new car cost. Being ZF and Beamer I’m sure they will be a expensive maintenance item.
