Went and got my med card re-certified and sent it into my manager. He tells me the doctor I went to wasn’t on the approved list and I may have to take another one. I’ve already turned the paperwork to driver services. Also the company has accepted my 2 previous med cards from the same doctor.

so the question is can they really force me to retake it?

Yes but what you sent to the state is still good too. You've followed the law and now you have to follow your emoloyer's policy if you want to continue working there unfortunately.

Not on who's approved list? His? If so, I'd say "sure thing! You pay for the physical and YOU pay me for the wasted time." From your post, the company is ok with the Dr. you used. DOT is ok with the Dr. you used. It's only your manager that has his panties in a wad. So he can pay for what he wants.

The people paying you can ask almost any legal thing they want.

I would say check the online list of approved providers with the FMCSA and make sure he is still on it. If he is, then show it to your manager and see if they can accept it this time and you will use their approved provider next time.

Maybe the clinician quit paying your manager a kickback so they are no longer on "his" approved list. I would check with the main company office to see if they still accept this clinician.
Another Canadian driver, FLHT and 201 Thank this.

That is not relevant to the question asked by the OP, but it is the driver's responsibility to get it to the DMV.

Bingo, I like how you think. This is total BS, and I'd tell them to cram it with walnuts. I swear, some of these employers think we're idiots, not on the list, thems quittin' words for me, but I've long from the get go, thought it was just another way of bilking the public for money.
