I started with a medium size relay style company, who practices slip seating. While technically I'm allowed part time, of course they're always pushing for more drive time. Frankly, I dont need the money that bad to beat myself up with 70 hrs/8days. The only factor I'm curious about is insurance.

I dont think they're big enough to self insure. If I were to guess they have 150 trucks tops. If they are buying insurance, are my specific details part of the plan, or is it a blanket policy? In other words, are they paying full price on me and I'm only driving part time?

They don't insure the driver they ensure the trucks. They can have five drivers for every one truck if they wanted and the rate would be exactly the same as long as the drivers driving records are clean.

    Medium size fleet?

    I know that's a 250 plus size fleet.

OP, they need or should be talking to the insurance underwriters and the insurance company itself to see what they need from you to cover all possible scenarios.

You as a driver don't need to worry about insurance.

    My question wasn't actual coverage.

My question was: would they pressure me to drive more in order to get more bang for the buck if they're paying insurance specifically per driver? But per Hillbilly, as I guessed, it's more of a blanket policy that likely goes off safety scores, inspections, etc, overall.
