I take several meds that are prescribed to me, I keep them and my vitamin supplements in one of those seven day organizers. I was told by my trainer that I needed the prescription bottles with me on the road. I can understand that. None are narcotic in nature so that is not an issue, what I'm wondering is two things.

    1. Do I need the bottles for the supplements? All the bottles will be bulky.

    2. Will DOT mess with me when the meds are in the organizer? It is easier for me to get everything ready at the house.

Coming from a LEO perspective I would not mess with a driver over this, unless I had a hard on for that person. I figure if that is happening to me I have other things to worry about.

    What say the hive mind?

I keep my med bottles with me and put them in daily organizers.

We'll discuss it in court if he wants to be a jerk.

As long as you have a script from a doctor not much can be said if they are not disqualified on the DOT site.

If you are coming from a LEO perspective then you also know there is always going to be that one guy who wants to make an issue with it. While most DOT cops don't have the authority to enforce code not specific to their AO, some States do give them the same authority as the State Police. To be safe, I would keep the meds in the prescription bottles. Don't worry about the supplements. They might get out the PDR to try and find something on them, but if they are legit then there is nothing they can say. You would really have to make somebody made for them to got that far....or it could be a new guy.

Thanks! Unless I break the meds out in front of them there should be no issues.

Should be no reason they are in your truck to start with, keep them in a closed place as your personal shower bag or toiletries and seriously doubt if you will ever have a problem.

That's exactly right. While the company may be able to give an officer permission to search the truck, they cannot give them permission to search the contents of any closed containers that don't belong to them. It would take a very long time to work that out and you would have to be high up on the radar for a cop to go that far into it.

    Very true,

I get along with police and even had one laughing, noticed my Alligator head and asked where I got it and told him, that's Al E Gator my co driver.

I figure if the police are in my truck then prescription meds are my last worry. LOL

my 82 year old father fell in the parking lot at WM
and cops hassled him about why he had 5 kinds of pills in one bottle
    so it does happen
I always assume to have the prescription bottle in the truck
and when wife leaves the truck i make sure her bottles leave too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been carrying prescription meds for years. Mine are all taken first thing in the am so I never needed a daily organizer for them. I have never had any issue at all with any kind of LEO at all about my meds EVER. Can't foresee you having one either. But I do recommend keeping the scrip bottles with your name on them JUST incase.
