The fat guy in charge of orientation actally said that to a room full of drivers. All of us (mostly seasoned drivers) looked at each other..like really? And then we realized, this was a prison.
After talking to several employees, it was clear why Heartless Transport was turning over drivers by the dozens weekly.
Actually prison is too nice a word to describe the company's with elogs, cameras, gestopo safety personel, wire fences, and dispatchers who are like dope sniffing K-9.
It's almost a plantation mentality with the heavy handed task manager threatening to use his whip to keep the slaves in order.
On top of that, the corrupted group known as the American Trucking Association who are nothing but puppets of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the CSA driver enforcement goons, suggest they are not looking out for the drivers best interest.
The Trucking industry has rolled over and its wheels are still spinning.....
The International Brotherhood of Teamster might be one way to save the truckers, but now we have these anti union states, that prevent solidarity among the working class patriots. -
They don't have cameras in trucks.
But their problem is 2 fold
1-they are anal about high dollar frieght. Night runs (fedex, conway, Sears, ford) and short hauls. Ultra short sometimes. 200 miles or less. Walmart dc to store...garbage
2-back office personel, or lack thereof. An accountant at a driver appreciation event I talked to said they operate on one of the lowest driver to office personel ratios in the industry. I think 1/6. That goes for mechanics and janitors too. Basically they over hire drivers or under book freight to make sure they can cover it all rather than hire more planners and try run everyone hard
Basically they are cheap. I'm trying to do regional for an ltl soon and eventually move the family to a bigger city and work local. 1800 miles a week isn't cutting itDustyRoad Thanks this. -
Elogs ruined trucking industry for solo drivers. I don't need the government telling me how much to drive & how much to rest. Anybody that needs that ain't smart enough to be a driver.

Why own a truck & get ur own authority?
