Melton turned off my Comdata card, with my paycheck on it, as soon as I anounced my intention to quit. After the truck was returned they made my, yes MY PAY CHECK, from the previous week available to me. They turned the card back on after a solicitation from me to the payroll dept. The card remained on, I guess, but when I attempted to use it six days later, it was declined. Upon calling the Melton payroll dept. I was issued the standard "you did something wrong, driver, since we here at Melton cannot admit a mistake" I was told that I should have use up the funds prior to yesterday. No mention of this was ever made to me, nor have I ever experianced this with other Comdata using companies that I have quit. The bottom line; my paycheck prior to the last pay check was confiscated, and put on a paper check, by Melton Truck lines. Gestapo! The more that I reflect on this company the more pissed I get.
Today I checked my mail, this is after being on the road with Melton Truck lines for the last three weeks, not a single pay stub in my mail box. I had a message on the qual com about my mail being returned, this was about two weeks ago. I supplied the correct mailing address VIA the qual com, as the automated system prescribes that I do, the information was to be forwarded by my dispatcher to the payroll dept. Just one more thing that she Ramona, ramanda, remanda, or whatever her name is, could not get right, and with out a daubt is my fault. I could live with Melton blaiming me for the managments constent mistakes, but that is not enough at Melton Truck lines; no, no, no, until you as a driver are willing to bent over and announce "thank you sir, may I have another" Melton Truck lines will not be satisfied: at least not in my oppinion, based on my experiance with them.
Melton's- 1 more way 2 bend a driver over

That sounds bad man. I just got approved for Melton yesterday but think I am going to kindly tip my hat and keep on riding off in the sunset. I don't like what they require to bring to orientation. Such as a passport, or completed passport application. I do not care at all about going into Canada. I got my fill on that junk quickly before it required passports.
How many miles did you actually get there anyway? Recruiter went over everything with me except the miles I could expect. I have read a lot about some drivers only averaging 1800 miles per week, but that was fairly older posts, some a year old. Any light you care to shed on that? -
Why would you "quit" before pulling your money off THEIR card? And when they "finally" put it back on why did you not jump on that sucker right then and there. Next, why do you not have a checking account to have it direct deposited in so it can make a little intrest and cut out comdata anyway?
zentrucking, thelastamericanhippy and truckerdave1970 Thank this. -
hey rollover, all I can say to your questions to the poster is.

In "04, I quit Arrow. Got paid on ComData at Midnight Thursday, cleaned out the truck at 1 am and cleaned out my Com Data account at 5 am. Then gave notice at 7 am.
thelastamericanhippy Thanks this. -
ROFLMAO!! Yeah I'd guess!!

Never give up the element of surprise. I turned in and cleaned out my truck before I quit USA. No sense in giving them the upper hand. Also took a couple of advances prior to quitting so if my last check got "hung" up, I wouldn't walk with nothing.

Why would you not cover your bases before you quit a company? Get it back to the yard, MT your stuff out of it, get your money in your hands, then quit. If they were bad when you worked for them are they going to be nicer when you tell them you are quitting?

I thought about getting some letters on my truck that say "Mobile Hobo"
