I'm not into young boys but thanks for the update I guess.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
That is my problem right now is my age. Most of the good companies will not hire on until I am 23. And the closest UPS terminal is 50 miles away. We have a FedEx terminal but you are pretty much a rolling dock worker. My dad did it for a couple years here. You either drive down to Mauston, WI or Minneapolis, work the dock for 4 or 5 hours then head back.

Started at 1:45 a.m. Did a D&H in Alexandria, MN and then a container run. 478 miles and $15 in stop pay. I was done by 12:45 p.m. -
I made that much $$$ in 1998. Tell them the cost of living went up in 16 years.

I worked for a O/O who hauled roofing shingles. 90% of our deliveries were to Menards stores in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
Some stores weren't too bad, some were nightmares. It used to tick me off, when you showed up at a Menards, and you might have to wait in the parking lot behind 2-3 other trucks. But a truck from the DC shows up, and is sent right through! -
Yea I did that in Stillwater one time and the other 2 trucks were steaming about it.

HometownHauler did you go to school at CVTC? If so what do you think of the program. I'm strongly considering a job move so any info is appreciated.
Maxgussam Thanks this. -
No I got my CDL through Roehl. But I know for a fact that CVTC is a great place to go. Some of the guys working here now went through there. If you do decide to go, Menards hires newbies.
