Last week was a wash. Between not being able to do flats because of my back and being off for 2 extra days it's gonna be a rough paycheck. On the plus side I got a bunch of stuff fixed on the truck for the upcoming 72 hour DOT blitz.
And in response to canned spam about pay it really is not that bad. I am grossing right now 800 to 900 a week. I realize it's not the best in the industry but I am home every day and I only have to work 5 days a week to earn it, and that's what's important to me. If there were more options for LTL and local companies in my area I might look into it but, I gotta admit... I hate change lol.
Also you forget to add in my profit sharing, safety bonus paid off all my hub miles at .04 a mile and random bonuses like our "Hop to it" bonus. All you have to do is work the required hours in a week for 6 weeks of the program and you get a $500 merchandise check to use at the stores for whatever you want. Not to mention I also get 10% off stuff I buy at the store.

So I guess they are gonna pull the trigger and go all CNG this fall. SMH at least they will be Kenworths this time around.
Lonesome and Lone Ranger 13 Thank this. -
Cummins was supposed to come out with a 15L model sometime soon but I heard they were having problems converting it or were not able to do it. That would be disappointing because right now those 12L have about as much power as a DD13... so not a whole lot lol.

LNG or not, at least you'll be driving new equipment! They're autos also?
-
No. The first ones we had were 9L with 6 spd Allison auto trans. And the ones we just got in February are the 12L with 10 spd manuals.
-
I thought you said Ruan was coming in there ? Anything come of that?
-
That was just pure speculation. They are just helping with the excess freight.

We got new rentals for the next 3 months or until the new trucks show up. Kinda ticks me off because I loved my truck over the one I have now. It has a garbage DD13 in it and no air dam, cab extenders or side skirts on it so pulling any van is like dragging an anchor behind you lol.

I've been seeing some "non-Menards" trucks pulling menards loads....I guess that explains it, rentals.

HomeTownHauler Thanks this.
