I know, it doesn't add up.
There's 75% who are nice and let you in.
There are 15% who are let's say "jerks"
There are the other 10% who don't even see the truck.
What?
A truck?
Where?
how?
And we have to get drug tested????????????????????/ -
When I worked in construction, all of our trucks were Cal-Trans ORANGE...
Actually brighter......
You would think that the 4-wheelers could see something the size of a whale and painted ORANGE.....but Nooooooo.....
They did however see these $$$$$$$$$ after they ran into the bright ORANGE truck... -
Some random comments -
I read a quote from some CHP officer who said that he would cite a driver who did not slow down or change lanes to allow another vehicle to merge - Never heard that one before - If I am stuck at 55 (in California, Illinois, etc) and can only use the right two lanes (in California, parts of Illinois, etc.) I am not about to move to the the next lane to let somebody merge so he/she can go next to me at 55 or 56 for the next 80 miles.
In CA, there is no more driver's education taught in school, lots of people with no license (don't get me started), and I heard that you don't even have to parallel park to get your license. Plus it seems that a lot of oblivious people end up in SoCal. So some people merge without signaling, without looking, without speeding up, then get PO'd at you for not "letting them in". Some drivers are just more comfortable in one particular lane, and some are more comfortable getting on the freeway (without signaling or looking, or speeding up), then when they are comfortably in their lane, they start to accelerate to freeway speed.
I found an enlightening and entertaining book about TRAFFIC which has interesting info about WHY WE DRIVE THE WAY WE DO. Don't know if it is OK to mention it by name or author - Mods may delete if required - Author is Tom Venderbilt.
Not pushing any product - just found it fascinating - You are not the only one who sizes people and drivers up in an instant, and acts based upon what you see and feel.
Sorry if too long - Thanks for reading . . .
