And then you have those that fail to realize that it's called an "acceleration lane" for a reason.

I've seen cars speed up and wouldn't let the merging car/truck over. There were no cars in the left lane so they could of easily changed lanes quick. To me that makes no sense. What purpose are you serving by doing that?

that is just like when u are trying to get out of the middle lane(Turning lane) in a 4/5lane highway and u have ur blinker on and no one will get over to let u out. when the other lane is COMPLETELY empty. just to let all you truck drivers know, i give ya'll the curtesy that i would like. if i'm goin down the interstate and i come up to an on ramp and i c ppl comming on to the interstate i will, 9 times out of 10, try to get over. and i see big trucks do it all the time and i try to do it every chance i get. ok i'm done talkin just thoguth i woudl rant a lil with ya'll LOL

Merging and acceleration lanes at on-ramps? What are they...? I don't think PennDOT knows anything about those... :biggrin_2559:

Seriously, I think Pennsylvania must have some of the shortest on-ramp merging lanes in the nation. I pity you guys trying to get 70' of truck on some of ours.

Right outside of Pottstown, along the Montgomery/Chester County line. I hate trying to get on Route 422. Most entrances it's do or die... :biggrin_25524:

My brother lived in Emmaus. :yes2557:

I have relatives in Emmaus. You might recognize my last name then. It's on most of the school buses in that area.

I would like to get as many respones as possible to this post!! yes Im taking a poll! Have you (big truck driver) received calls from your company re; "a 4-wheeler called in on you" "They said YOU ran them off the road" or "they said YOU used jesters, ie flipping them off etc. Maybe tell me what has happened to you when You COULD NOT move to the left to let a 4-wheeler on, and they didnt know HOW to merge. I would like to hear what other drivers have expierenced, please!

Call me an ### if you want but there are times I'm ready to just stay in the rite lane and make the on ramp traffic adjust to my speed. Too many times the last while I'll move over to let someone on, and they'll stomp it run out from underneath me. Than you have Tony Stewart wannabe coming up either in the left lane behind you jumping in the rite lane to pass you on the rite. Or Dale Earnhardt the 4th coming down said merge lane just coming on down your rite side.:biggrin_25513:
